I wondered if you would remember Trudi, Jodi. She was one of my closest friends until we moved from Winnemucca. And even then, she & I corresponded for years until the whole tumor thing came on. She was by my side when I finally stood the school bully down in 6th grade. I just loved Trudi!

Some day I would love to see your collection, Laurelle. Did you recognize the crochet star? I think the little "quilt" ball is in the background of one of those photos, too. :)
I love all the traditional Christmas songs, too: It Came Upon A Midnight Clear, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, Gloria - In Excelsis Deo. And the one I blogged about. :)

Your tree looks great! I love your eclectic collection of ornaments. I have a wonderful assortment as well, which you have contributed to, Jaci. My favorite is the gray and white hand-painted rocking horse; it's over twenty years old now and still looks like new!
I love all the traditions of Christmas, too. I think my favorite part of the season is the music. And I'm not talking about Jingle Bells and Here Comes Santa Claus. No, I mean the glorious old hymns of Christmas, like O Holy Night, I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day, and Come, O Come Emmanuel...I never get tired of them.
Am looking forward to baking gingerbread and sugar cookies, too!

LOL I heard a funny story on a Love and Logic video not too long ago. The parents used an empathetic statement each time their son got a time out - "Uh, oh, guess ___ needs some bedroom time. That's so sad." It worked so well with the son, they decided to try it on their dog, who loved to bark at the washing machine. Each time Moonshine barked, they would say, "Uh oh, guess Moonshine needs some kennel time. That's so sad." This went on until the dog realized she was not supposed to bark at the washer. One day, the little boy was sitting at the table working on a puzzle. He messed up and went "Uh oh." Moonshine, who was lying beside his feet, ran to the kennel. LOL I just thought that was too cute.
